Come together! This month’s happy hour will be a BBQ featuring music from the legendary fab four, The Beatles! Twist & shout in the courtyard with some food, drinks and fabulous tunes, everyone is welcome! Starting at 5pm, BYO alcohol, BBQ food supplied for $5 a head.

We are organising a bus trip to Birkenhead Point for a little bit of Christmas shopping. All participants need to be registered with Randwick Waverley Community Transport, and must have signed up at the office prior to going on the trip. Cost $15 for those not eligible for a home care package.

Breaking news… our very own Len “the Pen”, former journalist extraordinaire, promises not to let the facts interfere with a good story when he talks to us about his life and work! Please join us for a bring and share multicultural lunch. We encourage everyone to bring some food either from your culture or a culture of your choice. If you would like to join us please let us know by Friday 20th October. Everyone is welcome, including friends and family.

We have a very special afternoon tea today with guest speaker, and friend of resident Noni, Irene E Pfeiffer coming to speak to us about her life. She is a prolific traveller, volunteer, philanthropist, and recipient of the Order of Canada, among many other things. We are also happy to have resident Eva bake for us and provide some homemade goodies from her kitchen. Please come along to support Irene and Eva and enjoy a fabulous afternoon of storytelling, catching up with friends and neighbours, and cake! We are excited to welcome the Men’s Shed Chorale to the Astra today to perform a concert for us. They love to perform all around Sydney, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
